Govt operating fake news machinery to tarnish my image – Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of running a covert fake news campaign to damage his reputation ahead of the 2024 elections.

Speaking during a campaign visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in the Ashanti Region, Mahama dismissed reports claiming he was behind an attack on his convoy in Techiman, calling them baseless.

He stressed his commitment to a peaceful and transparent election process, urging unity and prioritization of the national interest.

Mahama further criticized the NPP’s campaign strategy, alleging they were resorting to falsehoods due to their failing efforts.
