A strong security presence was observed at the Supreme Court on Friday, December 27, ahead of proceedings on the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) challenge against a High Court ruling on disputed parliamentary election results.

The NDC contests the directive for the Electoral Commission (EC) to re-collate results in nine constituencies, citing declared outcomes as final.

This follows aggrieved candidates from both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) filing a writ over alleged anomalies in the initial collation.

Presiding Judge Joseph Adu Owusu Agyeman earlier ruled on December 20 for re-collation in the Ablekuma North constituency, despite objections from NDC lawyers, including Godwin Edudzi Tameklo.

The case now awaits Supreme Court adjudication amidst heightened public and political interest.
