Andy Appiah-Kubi, MP for Asante Akim North, has accepted his defeat in the 2024 general elections, attributing it to his bold advocacy on national issues.
He lost to Independent Candidate Ohene Kwame Frimpong, who secured 26,926 votes compared to his 8,933.
Speaking on Citi FM, Appiah-Kubi highlighted his principled stance on economic mismanagement and governance, including his vocal criticism of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Despite the loss, he expressed no regrets, stating, “If I ever fall victim to my advocacy, at least I’m still alive and have no regrets.”
Appiah-Kubi also announced his retirement from politics, opting to focus on his legal career. He urged the NPP to audit its performance to address the party’s significant loss of parliamentary seats.
