Haruna Mohammed, Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, for failing to address the ongoing post-election violence.
Mohammed expressed concern over the destruction, looting, and violence allegedly committed by political party supporters, accusing the IGP of neglecting his duties in maintaining peace after the elections.
He pointed out that the IGP was active before the elections but has been absent in addressing the aftermath.
Mohammed also condemned the unlawful actions of those involved in damaging state property and revealed that the NDC national executives were contacted to control their supporters.
The Ghana Police Service has arrested 106 individuals linked to the violent incidents.
