A survey by the Institute of Progressive Governance (IPG) predicts a first-round win for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and NPP’s presidential candidate, in the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections, with 50.2% of the vote.

His main rival, John Mahama of the NDC, is projected to secure 47.3%. The survey, based on 29,029 respondents, suggests that the remaining 11 candidates will collectively get 2.5%.

On parliamentary races, the NPP is expected to win 117 "safe seats," while the NDC is predicted to capture 56.

The IPG survey also indicates that a run-off election, like those in 2000 and 2008, is unlikely.

This projection was based on data from all 276 constituencies across Ghana.
