Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general election, has cited internal party governance issues as the key reason for the NPP's loss to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7 polls.
In an interview with Umaru Sanda, NAPO noted that unresolved conflicts and organizational flaws within the NPP overshadowed economic concerns, leading to voter apathy.
He recalled instances of party supporters refusing to vote despite pleas, emphasizing the need for introspection and reform.
Drawing on historical lessons, NAPO urged the NPP to address its recurring challenges to avoid repeating past mistakes, underscoring the importance of unity and adaptability for the party’s future.
