Frank Agyekum, spokesperson for former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has partly attributed the New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s defeat in the 2024 elections to President Akufo-Addo's leadership.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show, he cited public dissatisfaction, perceived arrogance of party members, and the imposition of unpopular candidates as major factors.
Agyekum stressed that these issues unfolded under Akufo-Addo's watch, stating, “The leader always bears the ultimate responsibility.”
He also criticized the selection of candidates, noting a disconnect between leadership and grassroots supporters.
The NPP lost to the NDC by over 1.6 million votes in a crushing defeat.
