Former President John Mahama has criticized President Akufo-Addo over remarks suggesting that the dumsor power crisis persisted until the New Patriotic Party (NPP) assumed office in 2017.
Speaking during his Western Region tour, Mahama insisted that dumsor had been resolved by 2016, asserting that “nobody’s lights went off in 2016.”
Quoting Proverbs 19:9, he admonished Akufo-Addo to refrain from falsehoods, stating, “Liars won’t go to heaven.”
Mahama also accused the NPP of dismissing security personnel recruited before the 2016 election and assured new recruits of job security under his leadership.
Additionally, he outlined plans to boost cocoa, oil production, and the rail sector if elected.
The clash intensifies the political rhetoric ahead of the December polls.
