President-elect John Dramani Mahama has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to demonstrate fairness and consistency in managing disputed parliamentary results.
He criticized the EC’s decision to suspend re-collation in nine constituencies, citing selective application of rules and procedural breaches.
Mahama pointed to past inconsistencies, such as the 2020 Techiman South case, where results were declared despite irregularities.
Addressing African ambassadors on December 20, he stressed that the EC’s actions must inspire trust and safeguard Ghana’s democratic institutions.
He urged the commission to engage all stakeholders, ensuring justice and transparency to maintain public confidence and credibility in the electoral process.
