On December 10, the Ghana Armed Forces successfully prevented an attempted takeover of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) headquarters in Accra.
A crowd of unidentified individuals tried to breach the gates of the facility, but military personnel stationed at the site intervened swiftly, restoring order without any injuries or major property damage.
The incident raises concerns about a growing wave of attempted takeovers of government institutions following the declaration of John Dramani Mahama as president-elect.
Similar attempts have been reported at other state agencies, including NADMO, the Forestry Commission, and Metro Mass Transit.
Authorities are increasing security measures to ensure the safety of public institutions amid these tensions.
