Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to former President John Mahama, has strongly criticized the Electoral Commission's (EC) re-declaration of parliamentary results for certain constituencies, including Obuasi East and Nsawam Adoagyiri.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she called the move an insult to Ghana's "nascent democracy," describing it as "unbelievable, unprecedented, and shameful."
Her remarks came after the EC re-collated and declared results for nine disputed constituencies from the December 7 polls.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) also rejected the re-declaration, labeling the process "illegal and manipulated."
The NDC accused EC Chairperson Jean Mensa of undermining the integrity of Ghana's electoral process, further deepening public mistrust in the institution.
