NDC challenges High Court's ruling on parliamentary results re-collation

National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Democratic Congress (NDC)

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has petitioned the Supreme Court to block a High Court ruling that directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to re-collate parliamentary results in nine constituencies, including Nsawam Adoagyiri and Okaikwei Central.

The December 20 judgment, prompted by six New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidates, cited irregularities in the collation process. The NDC's earlier attempt to join the case was dismissed, with the court ruling the party lacked sufficient grounds.

The NDC claims the High Court failed to account for legal provisions requiring notification to all interested parties, resulting in a miscarriage of justice.

The party seeks to quash the ruling and halt the EC's re-collation efforts pending a Supreme Court review.
