The National Democratic Congress' (NDC) Joycelyn Tetteh has secured a decisive victory in the North Dayi Constituency, Volta Region, retaining her parliamentary seat with 12,778 votes (72.13%).
She outpaced the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Edmund Attah Kudjoh, who garnered 4,722 votes (26.65%), and the Liberal Party of Ghana’s (LPG) Gloria Yayra Agbenorto, who received 134 votes (0.76%).
Despite aggressive campaigning led by Energy Minister Herbert Krapa, including donations of sewing machines, fridges, and streetlights, the NPP’s efforts fell short.
The electorate favored Tetteh’s proven record in education, youth empowerment, and infrastructure over material incentives.
Addressing supporters, Tetteh expressed gratitude, vowing to uphold development priorities. Her victory underscores the NDC’s dominance in North Dayi and solidifies her legacy as a dedicated advocate for her community.
