Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tamale have locked several district assembly warehouses in the Northern Region, delaying the distribution of critical relief supplies intended for drought and flood-affected communities.
The government had sent aid, including fertilizers, rice, oil, and agrochemicals, to assist farmers and vulnerable individuals in northern districts.
However, the supplies remain inaccessible, with reports indicating they were earmarked for distribution only after the elections.
Similarly, NDC supporters in Chereponi, North East Region, locked additional relief warehouses on December 9, further impeding assistance efforts.
These actions have sparked concerns about the timely delivery of essential aid to communities grappling with severe environmental challenges.
Authorities are being urged to ensure swift resolution and equitable distribution.
