The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has achieved a historic parliamentary majority in Ghana's 2024 general elections, provisional results reveal.
The party won over 180 seats out of 276, marking a significant milestone in its political resurgence.
Key victories came from strongholds like the Volta Region, where the NDC claimed all 18 seats, and the Northern and Upper East regions, winning 11 out of 18 and all 11 seats, respectively.
In Greater Accra, the NDC dominated with 30 out of 34 seats, a remarkable gain in the capital.
Notably, the NDC made inroads into traditional New Patriotic Party (NPP) territories, securing 7 out of 47 seats in the Ashanti Region.
As Ghanaians await the official presidential results, the NDC’s parliamentary triumph bolsters its hopes of forming the next government.
