The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the Member of Parliament-elect for Techiman South.
This follows a High Court ruling on January 4, which ordered the EC to collate results from 147 polling stations that had been left unaccounted for during the initial process.
The court emphasized that the EC had failed to fulfill its duty despite demands for the completion of the collation.
After completing the process, the EC announced Korsah’s victory with 46,663 votes, defeating Christopher Beyere Baasongti of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 43,429 votes.
The NDC has signaled its intention to appeal the ruling as tension remains high ahead of the January 7 parliamentary swearing-in.
