More than 5,000 members of the Movement for Change have defected to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), citing dissatisfaction with their leader, Alan Kyerematen.
At a press conference in Kumasi, the defectors, led by spokesman Anthony Ashmond Cobina, declared their support for NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, praising his vision for Ghana's future.
The group urged Ghanaians to reject Alan Kyerematen in the 2024 elections, labeling a vote for him as wasted. They pledged to campaign for the NPP, asserting that Dr. Bawumia offers the best path forward for the nation.
This move bolsters the NPP’s campaign ahead of the polls, adding momentum to Dr. Bawumia’s bid for the presidency.
