The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Director of Elections, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has issued a stern warning to electoral officials about adhering to the rules governing the 2024 elections.
In a Facebook post on December 9, Dr. Boamah emphasized that returning officers involved in misconduct or malpractice will face legal prosecution. He assured the public of the NDC’s commitment to protecting the integrity of the electoral process, adding that the party is closely monitoring collation centers for compliance with electoral laws.
“Fairness and transparency must guide the work of returning officers. Any violations will not be tolerated,” he stated, urging the Electoral Commission to strengthen oversight to prevent irregularities.
Dr. Boamah called on all stakeholders to collaborate to ensure peaceful, credible elections reflecting the people’s will.
