Sir Sam Jonah has called for unity and reflection following Ghana’s December 7 elections, praising the resilience of the country’s democracy and the peaceful conduct of the polls.
While commending the Electoral Commission and Ghana Police Service for safeguarding the election’s credibility, he expressed sorrow over lives lost during the process, describing the deaths as “tragic and unacceptable.”
He urged authorities to investigate the incidents, ensure accountability, and implement measures to prevent future occurrences.
Emphasizing the need to prioritize national welfare, Sir Jonah called on leaders and citizens to focus on rebuilding Ghana’s economy and strengthening democratic institutions.
Quoting Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, he encouraged Ghanaians to unite for the “noble and glorious challenge” of nation-building, envisioning a brighter, stronger, and inclusive future.
