Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly rejected the Electoral Commission's (EC) re-collation of parliamentary election results, dismissing it as a "cantata" orchestrated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a Facebook post, Gyamfi assured NDC supporters of the party’s commitment to electoral justice, claiming the NPP-backed EC's exercise was illegitimate.
He criticized the re-collation, where five out of nine disputed parliamentary seats were declared in favor of the NPP, despite originally being claimed by the NDC.
The NDC described the process as "illegal" and an "assault on democracy," accusing the EC, police, and military of colluding to manipulate results.
The party also condemned the alleged political destabilization efforts.
