Lydia Seyram Alhassan, MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has addressed criticism over a video showing her and her constituency women’s organizer distributing food to voters during the Special Voting exercise on December 2, 2024, at the Legon Police Station polling center.
Speaking on Citi FM, the MP dismissed claims of voter influence, explaining that her actions were driven by compassion.
She noted the gesture began when someone in the queue requested water, leading to a broader effort to assist those who appeared tired or hungry.
Alhassan emphasized that the food was initially meant for her agents and media personnel at the center and stressed she had left before any further incidents involving her political opponent, John Dumelo, occurred.
