Nananom of the Techiman Traditional Council in the Bono East Region has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to immediately announce the official results of the Techiman South Constituency Parliamentary Election.
The delay, caused by a violent attack on the collation center that destroyed ballot papers and electoral materials, has heightened anxiety in the area.
During a press conference at the Ohene Ameyaw Palace, Ɔyeadeɛyie Assah Akompanin, Kyidomhene of Techiman, revealed that most pink sheets were recovered after the attack.
The council urged the EC to resume the collation process and swiftly declare the results. They also called for calm and condemned any potential violence, while urging security agencies to act against those responsible for the attack.
The Concerned Youth of Techiman also threatened street protests if the results continue to be delayed.
