Tension in Ablekuma North as both NDC, NPP candidates claim victory before EC declaration

Both NDC’s Ewurabena Aubyn and NPP’s Ekua Afriyie have prematurely erected billboards thanking voters for electing them, despite the Electoral Commission (EC) not yet declaring a winner.

The collation process has stalled due to violent incidents and disagreements, fueling political tension. Concerned residents are urging restraint, emphasizing the need for peace until the EC officially announces the results.

Some fear the prolonged delay is hampering development, as the constituency remains without a recognized MP to push for projects.

The EC has yet to set a timeline for resuming collation, citing the need for security clearance before proceeding.
