University lecturers have lauded Ghana’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy, calling it a visionary and transformative initiative.
Speaking at a press conference on November 25, 2024, the group emphasized that Free SHS is not a political gimmick but a long-term investment in the nation's future.
The policy ensures equal access to education for all children, regardless of their socioeconomic background, and helps bridge the gap between privileged and underprivileged communities.
It supports social mobility, reduces educational inequality, and contributes to economic growth by empowering youth.
The lecturers urged the government to maintain funding, improve teacher training, and continue developing educational infrastructure to ensure the policy benefits every Ghanaian child, especially marginalized groups.
