Lawyer Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, has issued an apology on behalf of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following their defeat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections.
The loss, along with a significant reduction in parliamentary seats, reflects widespread dissatisfaction with the NPP’s eight-year leadership under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In a social media post, Assafuah expressed regret over the party's shortcomings, stating, “We accept the sentiments of the Ghanaian people. We are sorry.”
He acknowledged the need for the NPP to learn from its mistakes and pledged to use these lessons to improve in the future. His apology seeks to rebuild trust and accountability with Ghanaians.
