The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its intention to challenge the Electoral Commission’s (EC) declaration of parliamentary results for Akwatia, Fanteakwa North, and Suhum constituencies.
Deputy Director of Legal Affairs for the NDC, George Loh, criticized the recollation process held at the National Police Training School (NPTS) in Tesano, labeling it as illegal.
According to Loh, such declarations should have occurred within the respective regions of the constituencies, not at the Greater Accra Regional EC office.
In an interview on Citi FM, Loh stated, “An illegality is an illegality, and for that reason, we will be going to court. We will fight till the very end.”
The NDC has resolved to contest the results in court, raising concerns over procedural breaches and jurisdictional overreach by the EC.
