The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s ruling on the re-collation of parliamentary election results.
On December 27, 2024, the Court nullified the re-collation in four constituencies—Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Techiman South—while upholding results in Nsawam Adoagyiri and Ahafo Ano North.
Justice Gabriel Pwamang explained that the Court exercised its discretion due to the unique circumstances of each case.
Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, a member of the NDC’s legal team, called the ruling a victory for the rule of law and electoral integrity.
She added that the NDC would file an affidavit opposing the mandamus application and participate in the hearing scheduled for December 31, 2024.
