The National Peace Council (NPC), alongside the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) and election partners, has expressed concerns about calls from political parties urging supporters to gather at collation centres.
This move, they warn, could disrupt the work of electoral officers, delay results, and increase tensions at the centres.
The NPC strongly urges political parties to withdraw their supporters from these locations and allow only accredited agents to observe the collation process.
They stress the importance of respecting electoral rules and ensuring the Electoral Commission and security personnel can operate without interference.
This appeal seeks to uphold a peaceful and transparent election, allowing officials to perform their duties with professionalism and ensuring timely delivery of credible results.
