President-elect John Dramani Mahama has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to address ongoing violence in parts of the country during the transition period.
Mr. Mahama emphasized that President Akufo-Addo remains in charge until January 7, 2025, and must act decisively to maintain order.
Addressing the nation on December 10, Mahama also called on individuals reportedly linked to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop violent acts against state institutions, including Ghana Gas, Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, and NADMO.
“These acts must cease immediately. The youth should channel their frustrations into productive enterprises,” he said, urging security agencies to address the situation decisively to prevent further unrest.
