Chiefs And Queenmothers of Ashanti Region name Akufo-Addo “Precious President”; urge Asanteman not to repeat the Kufuor mistake

The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs has bestowed the title "Precious President" on Nana Akufo-Addo for his significant developmental contributions to the region and respectful engagement with traditional authorities.

Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, praised Akufo-Addo’s government for unprecedented achievements, including expansive road networks and infrastructure, urging Asanteman to protect these gains.

He warned against repeating the post-Kufuor era neglect of development in the region, describing it as a “slap in the face.”

The chiefs highlighted the President's unique commitment to traditional leadership, being the only sitting leader to visit the House since its establishment, and called on the region to ensure his efforts endure.

The visit included an audience with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace.
