The Paramount Chief of Tepa, Nana Adusei Atwenewah Ampem I, has called an emergency meeting with elders and residents to address unrest in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency after the December 7 elections.

Violence erupted following disputed results, with alleged NDC supporters attacking properties, including Tepa Senior High School, where election materials were stored. The school and other structures were set ablaze, while a local radio station linked to the NPP and a nearby warehouse were ransacked.

Protesters also torched a vehicle belonging to NPP parliamentary candidate Nana Agyemang Prempeh.

The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of Mr. Prempeh’s safety, countering initial fears of his disappearance.

Residents are urging swift action to restore peace.
