The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has increased security at its headquarters in Adum, Kumasi, following a series of unprovoked attacks by National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters on state institutions after the December 7 presidential election.
Armed police and military personnel have been stationed at the assembly building as a precautionary measure.
The Ashanti Regional Security Council (RCC) has implemented similar security arrangements. These steps come in response to ongoing attacks on state institutions by NDC supporters, particularly since former President John Mahama was declared the winner of the election.
Additionally, NDC supporters reportedly seized the Tamale Station in Kumasi on December 11, claiming control due to their party’s victory, stating they would return management to the NPP if the party regains power.
