Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused the NDC majority in Parliament of ignoring the Speaker's orders during recent proceedings.
Addressing the press on Monday, February 3, Afenyo-Markin explained that the NDC proceeded with the vetting process despite a direct instruction from the Speaker for the Selection Committee to meet and reconstitute the Appointments Committee.
While acknowledging their disagreement with the Speaker’s decision, Afenyo-Markin stressed the importance of continued engagement, stating that they had attempted to meet with the Speaker over the weekend and would persist in their efforts to do so.
