Afenyo-Markin slams ORAL Committee, says it's a tool for personal vendettas

Alexander Afenyo-Markin has sharply condemned the establishment of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee by the incoming administration, calling it a tool for persecuting former appointees of the Akufo-Addo government.

Speaking at the final meeting of the Eighth Parliament, Afenyo-Markin dismissed the committee as unconstitutional and unnecessary.

The ORAL initiative, launched by President-elect John Mahama to address corruption and state capture, has sparked public debate.

Afenyo-Markin warned that the committee's actions could disrupt governance and infringe on citizens' rights. He also expressed concerns over its potential to violate the rule of law and undermine democratic institutions.

With the incoming Minority Caucus adopting the “Touch one, touch all” mantra, Afenyo-Markin called for adherence to due process and cautioned the NDC to focus on governance rather than targeting political opponents.
