In a recent development, Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine has officially withdrawn the state's appeal in the high-profile ambulance procurement case involving Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and businessman Richard Jakpa.

This decision follows the Court of Appeal's July 2024 ruling, which acquitted and discharged both individuals, overturning a prior High Court directive that had mandated them to present their defense.

The case centered on allegations of causing a financial loss of €2.37 million to the state in a deal to procure ambulances for the Government of Ghana.

The Attorney General's notice, filed on January 23, 2025, indicates that the Republic will not pursue the appeal further, effectively bringing the legal proceedings to a close.
