The Minority in Parliament has strongly criticized Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine for discontinuing several high-profile criminal cases involving former NDC officials.

At a press conference, Minority members argued that halting the prosecution of seven pro-NDC figures raises serious concerns about governance, the rule of law, and anti-corruption efforts.

Suame MP John Darko condemned the move, particularly citing the withdrawal of the case against Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa.

The caucus accused the Attorney General of acting as both prosecutor and judge, ensuring the acquittal of party members.

They also pointed to the swift appointment of Dr. Johnson Asiama as Bank of Ghana Governor just a day after his charges were dropped, calling it a troubling sign of the government’s stance on accountability.
