Clerk to Appointments Committee won’t be removed today or tomorrow – Ahiafor tells Afenyo-Markin

Appointments Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor has dismissed calls by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for the removal of the Committee’s Clerk, Gifty Jiagge-Gobah, stating that she will not be removed "today or tomorrow."

Ahiafor defended the Clerk’s professionalism, rejecting claims of partisanship and urging Afenyo-Markin to apologize for his remarks.

He emphasized that Jiagge-Gobah has served Parliament diligently for 19 years and does not deserve to be publicly criticized.

The dispute comes amid heightened tensions within the Committee, following disruptions that led to the suspension of four MPs by Speaker Alban Bagbin.
