Former Minister of Environment, Science & Technology, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has warned of an impending hunger crisis in Ghana due to the widespread destruction of farmlands by illegal small-scale mining (Galamsey).

Speaking on Key Points on TV3, he emphasized the severe impact of Galamsey on food production, noting the irreversible damage to biodiversity and pipelines.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng criticized the current leadership for lacking concern for future generations and expressed disappointment over the young generation's loss of hope in leadership.

He also condemned the inadequate efforts in tackling corruption, stating that true leadership should prioritize the well-being of future generations over personal gain.
