‘Go to court if you think ORAL is unlawful’ – Domelevo challenges critics

Daniel Domelevo Daniel Domelevo

Former Auditor General Daniel Domelevo has defended the legality of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee amidst criticisms of its operations.

Speaking on Joy News, Domelevo emphasized that ORAL only collects data to aid the executive in tackling corruption.

He dismissed claims of overreach, stating, “We aren’t inviting anyone; we’re simply receiving information through public channels.”

Domelevo urged critics to challenge the committee in court if they believe it is acting unlawfully.

Highlighting past initiatives, he noted inconsistencies in public reactions, citing how similar data collection efforts were previously accepted without opposition.

Domelevo reiterated that ORAL’s work is transparent and voluntary, with findings passed to the president for further action by relevant bodies.
