The Minority in Parliament has dismissed President John Mahama’s 2025 State of the Nation Address (SONA), arguing that it misrepresented Ghana’s actual state.
Delivered in Parliament on February 27, Mahama’s speech blamed the country’s economic struggles on decisions made by the previous Akufo-Addo administration.
However, Minority spokesperson Stephen Amoah accused the president of spreading misinformation, particularly regarding the economy’s condition before his tenure.
He contended that Mahama omitted key details, including security concerns that necessitated heavy spending by the past government.
Amoah also refuted claims about the stalled Agenda 111 hospital projects, asserting that some facilities were completed and the initiative remains active.
The Minority maintains that Mahama’s address lacked transparency on critical national issues.
