Prof. Titus Kofi Beyuo, a former General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) and MP for Lambussie, has urged the government to enact a law that would improve the country’s emergency care systems.

His call follows the tragic death of a fan during a Ghana Premier League match between Kotoko and Nsoatreman on February 2, 2025.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Prof Beyuo stressed the need for a legal framework that aligns with global emergency response standards.

He proposed a review of existing laws and the establishment of clear guidelines for medical emergencies, including mandatory emergency drills for healthcare facilities.

Prof Beyuo is collaborating with legal experts to explore potential legislative reforms aimed at enhancing the nation’s emergency preparedness and preventing further tragedies.
