Agyemang Duah Owusu, a 42-year-old Police Inspector, has been charged with murder and remanded by the Sunyani District Court following the death of Francis Frimpong, a Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC supporter.
Frimpong was fatally stabbed during the February 2, 2025, Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko at the Nsoatre stadium.
Owusu, along with Ignatius Baffour-Awuah and Joseph Kyeremeh, appeared before the court on February 4, 2025. Baffour-Awuah and Kyeremeh were charged with abetting the crime and granted bail with conditions.
A search of Owusu’s room revealed bloodstained clothing and a firearm.
The suspects will reappear in court on February 17, 2025.
