The Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) team has revealed that most corruption-related cases submitted to President John Dramani Mahama on February 10 will require extensive financial and procurement audits before legal action can be taken.
Daniel Domelevo, a member of the ORAL team, emphasized on Citi Breakfast Show that ORAL lacks investigative powers and merely compiled 2,417 corruption complaints. He stressed that independent forensic audits are necessary to verify financial fraud and procurement breaches.
“Our role was information gathering, not investigation,” Domelevo clarified, urging relevant agencies to authenticate the allegations before prosecutions commence.
The ORAL report highlights corruption cases, including financial mismanagement, that could have significant legal and economic implications for Ghana.
