Former Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah has dismissed President John Mahama’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative, calling it ineffective and lacking the authority to fight corruption.

Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show, he stated that ORAL has no investigative or prosecutorial powers, adding that he would not respond to their invitation even if he were guilty of corruption.

Tuah-Yeboah argued that resources should instead be directed to state agencies like the Police and EOCO.

His comments follow ORAL’s report submission to the President, detailing over 2,400 corruption complaints.

The report, led by MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, estimates that Ghana could recover over $21 billion in stolen assets. President Mahama has ordered the Attorney General to investigate the claims.
