IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe, has condemned the chaos that erupted during the vetting of ministerial nominees on January 30, describing it as disgraceful and unacceptable.
Speaking on Channel One TV, he criticized the conduct of Members of Parliament, stating that no justification could excuse their actions.
Cudjoe supported Speaker Alban Bagbin’s intervention, which included lodging a criminal complaint, reconstituting the Appointments Committee, and assessing the damage caused. He emphasized the need for accountability, insisting that those responsible must answer for their actions.
"These were dastardly acts, and Mr. Speaker has taken the right steps to restore order," he remarked.
He further commended Bagbin for his swift and firm response in addressing the parliamentary disorder.
