The Acting CEO of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Prof. Nana Ama Klutse, addressed concerns about illegal mining, stating that the agency has not received any reports linking politicians to such activities.

Speaking on Channel One TV in Accra, Prof. Klutse assured the public that if any politician is found involved, the agency would take legal action.

She highlighted the EPA's ongoing efforts to combat the environmental damage caused by illegal mining, which has severely impacted water bodies, forests, and local livelihoods.

Prof. Klutse reiterated the EPA's commitment to its mandate of protecting the environment and emphasized that the agency will continue to monitor and respond to all activities that harm the environment, irrespective of the individuals involved.
