Enock Buamah, a 19-year-old illegal miner, was sentenced to three months in prison with hard labour after pleading guilty to charges of unlawful entry, damage, and stealing.
Appearing before the Tarkwa District Court, Buamah was found responsible for stealing items valued at GH¢802 from James Arthur, a farmer in Kofi-Gyan, Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality.
The theft occurred after Buamah broke into Arthur's house, taking two MP3 players, a pen drive, memory card, sandals, and soap.
Following a tip-off, Buamah was apprehended by the local taskforce and confessed to the crime.
Some of the stolen items were recovered and handed over to the police, leading to his arrest and subsequent sentencing.
