Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has highlighted the need for the incoming Office of the Regulator of Accountability and Legitimacy (ORAL) to address the case of Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu, the former CEO of MASLOC.
Ms. Attionu, convicted in 2024 on 78 counts of causing financial loss, theft, money laundering, and other charges, fled to the United States before her sentencing.
She was handed a 10-year prison term in absentia.
Cudjoe's statement underscores the importance of holding high-profile offenders accountable as a step toward strengthening public confidence in the fight against corruption.
ORAL's handling of this matter could demonstrate its commitment to upholding justice and recovering state resources lost through mismanagement and fraud.
