Ablakwa questions GHS60M transfer to Akufo-Addo’s Office days before handover

North Tongu MP and Chairman of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has raised concerns over a GHS60 million transfer to President Akufo-Addo’s office just days before the end of his term.

In a Facebook post, Ablakwa revealed that the funds were received on December 23, 2024, at 4:38 PM, labeled for “Special Operations.”

Ablakwa criticized the outgoing government for prioritizing such expenditures over addressing arrears owed to the West African Examination Council (WAEC), CHASS, CETAG, and other critical sectors.

He described the transfer as wasteful and urged Akufo-Addo to explain its necessity.

Ablakwa further advocated for legislative reforms to curtail extravagant spending, dubious contracts, and mass recruitment during governmental transitions to safeguard public funds.
