Gifty Oware detained by NIB

Former Deputy Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Gifty Oware Mensah, has been detained by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) over alleged payroll fraud during her tenure.

She was taken into custody on Friday, March 7, 2025, and denied bail despite efforts by her lawyers and an initial attempt by John Boadu to secure her release.

Oware had just returned to Ghana on March 5, 2025, after a holiday abroad following the 2024 elections.

Her lawyer, Nana Agyei-Baffour, insists she was never invited for questioning before her arrest.

Her detention follows the recent arrest of her colleague, Ohene Djan, who was picked up in a dramatic raid by NIB officers.

Authorities have yet to disclose her current location despite legal interventions.
